As a CNC Machinist at Carlson, you’ll transform raw metal into precision components that support industries ranging from aerospace and defense to medical, energy, and beyond. Working with advanced equipment including mills, lathes, EDMs, gundrills, deep hole drills, and 5-axis machining centers, you’ll solve complex challenges, refine your craft, and manufacture parts measured in thousandths of an inch. At Carlson, machining is more than operating equipment, it’s mastering a trade and building products that keep America moving forward.
At Carlson, you’ll assemble, fit, troubleshoot, repair, and refine precision plastic injection molds that produce millions of products used every day. Combining machining, assembly, and hands-on problem solving, you’ll work on challenging, high-precision tooling for industries ranging from medical and packaging to automotive and battery. Every mold presents a new challenge. Whether you’re building a new tool, improving an existing design, or diagnosing a complex issue, you’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, continuous learning, and pride in a job well done.
As a team member in the Quality Department, you’ll utilize the latest coordinate measuring technology and a number of measurement strategies including tactile point measuring, full-contact tactile measurement, and non-contact laser scanning. Not only do we at Carlson work with our customers to clearly define all their quality requirements, we also work even harder to meet and exceed them the first time, on time, every time.
At Carlson, you’ll speed up product development by solving complex challenges and ensure every detail is built to perform by using the latest engineering software to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and tool designs that guide the build from concept to finished mold. You’ll keep our customers in the loop every step of the way using the latest web-based collaboration tools to reduce time to market, reduce errors, and increase overall responsiveness.
Own the project from start to finish by supporting Carlson’s Tooling Division in daily project activities across all phases of mold build and component project execution including scheduling, coordination, customer communication, cost awareness, and cross-functional collaboration. At Carlson, Project Managers bring teams together, solve problems, manage priorities, and make sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality
